Custom Family Vacation: Galápagos Islands
Longtime guests who have traveled on many TCS World Travel luxury jet expeditions called our Luxury Custom Travel department to plan a journey with their children and grandchildren to the magical Galápagos Islands. The resulting itinerary could be a starting point for your own family’s custom journey.
The family landed in Quito and were escorted to their newly restored historic mansion in the middle of the city’s Old Town. After checking into the Casa Gangotena, they enjoyed a little time to relax and recharge from their flights.
Later, they embarked on a privately guided walking tour around the city center where they explored Quito’s gorgeous churches—some nearly 500 years old—and visited the workshop of a traditional Panama hat maker.
Ecuadorian Cooking Class
Join a local chef for some hands-on lessons in making Ecuadorian favorites, such as llapingachos, ceviche and fanesca soup.
Join your partner and indulge your body and spirit in an Andean cleansing ceremony performed by an expert in traditional medicine using local herbs and plants.
The family flew from Quito to Guayaquil and then on to the Galápagos Islands where they boarded the M/Y Grace, which would be their home for the next seven nights.
They had the entire ship to themselves, visiting a number of different islands while making new memories that will last a lifetime. Members of the family snorkeled in crystal-clear waters with sea lions and marine iguanas, hiked through volcanic terrain in search of Darwin’s finches and Galápagos hawks, and paddled around deserted bays in kayaks.
We were also able to arrange a private visit to the Darwin Research Center where the family met with the curator and learned about the center’s important work in the fields of conservation and biodiversity.
Plunge beneath the protected waters of the Galápagos and search for sea lions, penguins, sharks and manta rays
